Hidden Edge Club: Business Forecasting Dinner

  • Location:London
  • Venue:Haymarket Hotel
  • Length:06:30 pm – 09:30 pm

In an increasingly competitive and volatile consumer market it is now more important than ever to make the best use of all available data and resources. The choice to overlook recent technological advances carries with it significant risk, both for the business as a whole and those responsible for understanding the customer. On the 10th of July the Hidden Edge club will be bringing together 16 Finance, Operation, Supply Chain, Marketing experts from enterprise-scale organisations to discuss how improved analytics and forecasting can be used to drive a competitive advantage.

“Analytics can shed light on events where the human eye would not necessarily see a link.” – Eric Bélot, Head of Statistical Analysis of Product Quality Data EMEA at Volvo Group. Volvo recently implemented a new analytics system that measures over 100 parameters to successfully predict how close each vehicle is to breaking down. This revised data usage ensures that Volvo are able to service any faulty vehicles before any significant malfunction occurs and minimise breakdowns. The result of this early intervention is a significant cut in costs, enhanced operational efficiency and dramatically improved customer service – just one example of the ingenuitive new forecasting solutions that are being implemented across various industries to give businesses a competitive edge within their markets.

Why are we meeting now?
The recently announced partnership between SAP and SAS offers many large companies a range of new options to optimise their forecasting and analytics. Given the current pace of change we believe it is the right time to come together and discuss these recent changes and what opportunities they offer. Paul Jones, Head of Technology Practice at SAS will be chairing our discussion. His years of experience at the forefront of data management and analysis mean they are superbly placed to direct our discussion.

We are meeting for networking drinks at the Haymarket Hotel’s spectacular poolside pewter bar at 6.30PM before moving through to the Rocklin Private Dining Room to begin our dinner discussion and have a five star, three course meal. This event provides an excellent opportunity to network with senior peers in an informal, yet confidential environment. Spaces are strictly limited so please register as soon as possible to confirm your place. SAS, world leaders in advanced analytics and business forecasting, have kindly agreed to support the event.
